Celebrating a Legacy of Giving
* March 30, 2023 *
The Catholic Academy of Bridgeport is thrilled and grateful to announce that we will honor the legacy of the former Inner-City Foundation for Charity & Education at our Spring Gala on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at the Woodway Country Club in Darien. For more than a decade, the tremendous support from the Inner-City Foundation for Charity & Education of our Academy allowed an excellent education to be made available to countless students on our campuses. The Foundation’s belief in our mission and our children has been life-changing, and we would not be where we are today without them.

11th Annual Golf Classic
* May 15, 2023 *
Honoring Jody and John Myers
On Monday, May 15, 2023, the Catholic Academy of Bridgeport (CAB) will host its 11th Annual Golf Classic at the Country Club of Fairfield.
This shotgun-style outing is always a sellout, with all proceeds going toward student scholarship. This year, CAB is delighted to be honoring Jody and John Myers at the Golf Classic.
The Myers have supported Catholic education for decades and are especially interested in early education in inner-city elementary schools. Both Jody and John have served on CAB’s Board of Directors for one or more terms, and Jody is currently a Board member. She also is an active member of CAB’s Marketing & Enrollment Committee, and has faithfully volunteered on our Ladies Luncheon and Spring Gala planning committees through the years. The Myers co-chaired the Annual Bishop’s Appeal in 2006, and Jody also has been a Board member for the Cardinal Shehan Center.
Jody is a product of Catholic schools and strongly believes that Catholic education helps shape the lives of children in a positive way. She and John raised four children in Fairfield, CT and today have 11 grandchildren, eight of whom live in Fairfield. John had a 38-year career with General Electric, where he was the President of GE Asset Management for the final 11 years. Since retiring, John has remained active in the investment management business, principally real estate and private equity, while serving on several other not-for-profit Boards.
If you are interested in learning more about CAB’s 11th Annual Golf Classic – including being a sponsor or underwriter — please contact Noelle Debes at (203) 378-2310.
More information about the outing will follow shortly. Stay tuned!
