our history
Catholic Schools in the city of Bridgeport, including our own St. Augustine Academy, have been in existence since 1874.
2004 brought the origin of the Catholic Academy of Bridgeport. The six Catholic elementary schools in the city were put under one umbrella called the Cathedral Cluster to make Catholic education more affordable for local families and to be able to invest more in the students of these schools. This was possible because of shared resources, increased efficiencies and the support of generous donors.

our history
In 2013, our school was renamed the Catholic Academy of Bridgeport and comprised of the four remaining elementary schools in the city (St. Andrew, St. Ann, St. Augustine, and St. Raphael). Today, we are one school on four campuses and serve almost 900 students from the city of Bridgeport and surrounding towns.
Always benefitting from a committed faculty and strong support from the Diocese of Bridgeport, Bishop Frank Caggiano and the Office for Education, our school is also supported by a fully committed governing Board of lay leaders devoted to the mission of the Catholic Academy of Bridgeport.
The Catholic Academy of Bridgeport is fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). We offer rigorous academics, student placements in the most competitive area high schools, before-school and after-school care, and significant financial assistance, along with a safe, faith-filled learning environment in which diversity of all kinds is valued and celebrated.
