CURRICULUM
Our goal is to provide our students with confidence in their worth and abilities, and with the many varied skills they need to engage meaningfully with the world. We have created a holistic educational environment to prepare them for success in the best Catholic and private non-Catholic high schools in Fairfield County - and beyond.
CAB families tell us our school is like a second home to their students. We look forward to welcoming you home!
Our curriculum meets or exceeds national standards in English and Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and Religion. The Academy undertakes a continual 5-year curriculum review cycle, in which subjects are reviewed for vertical and horizontal articulation across grade levels, and textbooks and other learning materials are kept up-to-date and relevant.
In addition to rigorous academics, the Academy provides:
-
Weekly classes in Art, Music, Physical Education and Spanish.
-
A robust Social-Emotional Learning program, RULER, developed at Yale University.
-
A dynamic Student Support Program (SSP) to help identify student needs and ensure that appropriate interventions are provided, as available, in order to help individual children find success each year.
-
Out-of-classroom day and overnight trips designed to enrich the program with hands-on experiential learning and service.
-
Religion class is taught daily and also infused throughout the curriculum in all grades.
-
The Catholic liturgical calendar is observed, and students attend Mass regularly.
Arts, Athletics and Clubs
Extracurriculars provide enrichment and contribute to students' holistic development, fostering creativity, teamwork and physical well-being.
CAB students receive weekly instruction in Fine Art, Music and Physical Education.
Each campus also provides various after-school clubs and offerings in everything from Bible Study and Cultural Clubs, to Robotics and Performing Arts.
-
The Alegre Program for the Performing Arts is available to students on all campuses in grades 5 - 8, focusing on choral music, dance, and theater instruction and performance.
-
Various boys and girls athletic opportunities are available on each campus, including basketball, track, soccer and volleyball.

After School &
Summer Programs
Our campuses provide after-school and summer programs.
After School - Each campus provides after-school care from 2:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. for an additional, nominal fee. Homework help is available during this time.
Summer Programs
Our summer offerings vary from campus to campus, and include:
-
academically oriented, half-day enrichment programs designed to reinforce skills and reduce the “summer slide”
-
whole-day, more traditionally themed programs which include field trips and enrichment activities.
Fees for these programs can be provided by the school offices.
